| The Wolfe Island Prize: Scene of the Crime Short Story Contest
It's that time of year again. February 24th marks the birthday of Grant Allen, Canada's first crime writer. What
better way to celebrate the occasion than to give other Canadians a chance to have their first mystery story published?

Any Canadian citizen, or any resident of Canada, is eligible to enter the contest, providing they are previously
unpublished in the crime or mystery genre. We also have to exclude any previous winners — the judges may be partial to
              them already!

The first place winner receives a cheque for $50.00, and sees their story published in Kingston Life Magazine. Second
and third places winners receive $25.00 gift certificates from Kingston's Novel Idea Book Store. If it happens that
they don't live closely enough to Kingston to drop by the store, an alternative prize is worked out with the winner.
All three winners receive a certificate suitable for framing, and everyone who submits a story will receive a brief
              critique on request.
